Match 30 of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, set to be played between USA and Ireland in Lauderhill, Florida on Friday (June 14) was washed out due to rain and wet outfield, as a result of which the points were split between the two teams and ensured USA’s passage to the Super 8s. They finished second in Group A, behind India after the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Having beaten Canada and Pakistan in their first two games of the season, the one point earned against Ireland has taken USA to five points, effectively ending Ireland, Canada and Pakistan’s chances of overhauling that.

USA have become the sixth team – after India, Australia, Afghanistan, West Indies and South Africa – to qualify for the Super 8s. They will be placed in Group B, along with West Indies, South Africa and the second qualifier from Group B, where Scotland and England are in contention.
