Charlotte Dean stars as England Women complete 9-wicket victory
Off-break bowler Charlotte Dean picked up 4 for 38 against New Zealand Women to restrict the White Ferns to 156 before opening batters Tammy Beaumont and Maia Bouchier stitched a 137-run opening partnership to seal a comfortable win in the 1st ODI at the Riverside Stadium, Chester-le-Street.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Sophie Ecclestone picked up big wickets of Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine before Dean wrapped up the tail and the middle order. New Zealand batter Brooke Halliday stood out with 51 off 60 who managed to get the NZW to a respectable 156.
